Giving charity for water irrigation projects is considered an ongoing charity, based on what was mentioned in the hadith of Anas bin Malik, may God be pleased with him, that the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said: “Seven reward will be given to a servant while he is in his grave after his death: whoever teaches knowledge, or runs a river, or digs a well, or He planted palm trees, or built a mosque, or bequeathed a Qur’an, or left a son for whom he would seek forgiveness after his death.”
Irrigating water is the forgiveness of sins.
